The video for Nick Cannon’s song, Can I Live, is worth watching, and passing around (rap or not).
This song is based on his (true) story. (HT: Justin Taylor…yet again.)

It is powerful. I especially loved the ending with all the little kids wearing the ‘can I live?’ t-shirts. When Planned Parenthood came out with that t-shirt for young girls a while back, “i got an abortion,” we designed similar shirts that read “I love you, Mom (thanks for not aborting me)” etc.
The PP people wanted to emphasize freedom of choice without shame. We wanted to emphasize what would happen (or, who would happen) if the abortion didn’t take place.
It’s such a hard subject to deal with, because, on the one hand, we want to be loud and prevent women from making this mistake, but on the other hand we want to be compassionate to those who already have and are struggling immensely with that decision. I can’t even begin to fathom the grief one might feel; thankfully, Jesus is an ever present help in time of need. He makes all things new, and is the lifter of our heads!
Thanks for stopping by, ~Kat! What an amazing testimony you have.
