Hooked on Reader Works for Me

Why am I not writing a real blog entry right now?

Simple. I am now officially addicted to Google Reader. I’d been using the Sage add-on (more recently, the slightly cooler upgrade, Sage-Too) in my favorite browser to get through the ‘miles of blogs before I sleep’ for years now. But I got curious about a week ago about Google Reader, and decided to try it out.

The transition from Sage to Reader took less than a minute, once I figured out how to export, then import, my feeds in an opml file (see Settings, Import/Export in Reader). Not more than 3 minutes later, and especially after discovering the keyboard shortcuts, I was hooked–absolutely hooked.

And now, my dear friends, I just can’t stop.

Pray for me, would you?

BTW, I’ll be sharing the few posts I find interesting here, just in case you’re interested. (It, too, can be subscribed to via RSS…now that’s just plain craziness, folks!)

Here’s to “Redeeming the time…”!

Yeah dude. Same for me. Except I use Bloglines (Beta site).
Makes life so much easier, and takes far less time to visit sites.
Redeeming the time indeed… well, that is unless you are still spending hours at ……… igotnothin.com
(I tried to come up with something funny, but I got nothin…)

    Funny, that’s an actual website.

  3. I’ve tried a few other readers, but NetNewsWire is just too easy and laid out too well. Plus, it syncs (via the NewsGator cloud) with NetNewsWire on my iPhone.

Haven’t even heard of NetNewsWire…I’ll check it out. Thanks for the tip, Luke. [This just in: NetNewsWire is 1) an application, not a website, and 2) Mac-only.]

  5. Exactly. All the more reason to get a Mac!
